DAY 51

Tuesday, 8/19/69

Left Seattle and drove to Edmonds where we took a ferry boat ride from Edmonds to Kingston. Was so invigorating and beautiful.

We then drove on the Olympic Peninsula to Port Angeles and stopped for a quick lunch. We drove into Olympic National Park and went to the Visitor’s Information Center where we were able to see examples of plant, rock, and animal life in the area. Proceeded to the campgrounds at Mora. Light drizzle all day, but still so lovely. Found gorgeous site here – huge trees and great amount of ground bush. Just sorry weather so wet.

All on each other’s nerves. Too close quarters today. Weather lifted enough to call Paul and Jackie and go to the campfire. Saw slide of the area; very nice. Made all hot chocolate and all to bed.
