Up early and drove three miles to Montreal EXPO. Just breathtaking. Went first to USA geodesic dome and now an aviary. David Singer worked on it and formal garden display.
Walked all through EXPO...some long lines (ugh). Saw 360-degree film on Canada and just great. We brought lunch...rested
and walked through more countries’ exhibits. Came into EXPO and left by modern subway. Subway station designer’s paradise. Took a free express to the second island...more fantastic buildings. Great use of aluminum tubing, canvas, rusted iron and steel, concrete.
Took boys to amusement park. Also part of fair. By then I was in state of exhaustion so Howard and boys went on various rides.
Weather cloudy, then perfectly clear, balmy. Luckily, not too crowded. Really could spend a week here. We ate dinner in a BBQ chicken place,
then took boys to the best
exhibit...Canadian Indians...fantastic masks and onto EXPO photo exhibit
Made us cry, so provoking and arranged for visitors’ comfort, something the other exhibits didn’t have. Fell into bed by 9:00 p.m.. Will never move again!
