DAY 63

Sunday, 8/31/69

Another glorious day. After breakfast (9:45 a.m.!) we floated down the Truckee River on three inner tubes and two rafts. Did it a couple of times. So quiet and peaceful. Had lunch then spent the afternoon swimming and sunning by the lake. We’re all very tan and sunburned!

Barbecued steak. Had big campfire. When boys asleep we went for a little walk. So many stars out. Almost seemed unreal.

8/31/69, William Kent U.S. Forest Service Campground, Tahoe (6,235 ft.)
