DAY 46

Thursday, 8/14/69

Left early and drove to Yoho National Park in British Columbia. Went on two side trips: one to Emerald Lake and really that unbelievable color. Had coffee on
grounds overlooking
lake

and then drove short distance to “Natural Bridge.”

The effect of rushing river water eating away at limestone and effect of soil, sand, and gravel eating away at the rock. Has cut away and is fantastic. Drove to Glacier National Park. Much narrower than Banff Jasper Parks. Full of glaciers and beauty.

Continue to town of Revelstoke and to a little park they had with park of river turned into swimming area.

Howard and boys went in and cooled off since very warm in this area. At lunch also. Then finally drive through many hills and valley to Lake Shuswap and as we thought a provincial park. Was all full and had to stay at private one across the street. Luckily got campsite in forest. Called the folks and bed.

8/14/69, Franks Campground, Shuswap Lake, B.C.
