A note regarding Jasper and Banff Nat'l parks.. from a website.
"The Icefields Parkway has been described as one of the most beautiful roads in the world. Each year over half a million park visitors enjoy this 230 kilometre traverse through the spectacular sub-alpine landscape between Lake Louise and Jasper"
This has been one of the highlights of our trip. First, the ride through Jasper National Park and Banff National Park,
an experience every minute: snow-covered peaks reaching up to 12,000 feet;
glacial-fed streams and lakes ranging in color from milk-gray-green to azure. We stopped numerous times to take pictures, each one more breathtaking than the last.

We now came to the Athabasca Glacier, a part of the Columbia Icefield.
We went on a snowmobile tour for 45 minutes over the glacier. What an experience: bumpy, cold and so much fun. Benji’s eyes bugged out all
the time! Stopped by a mill. Hole in the ice where the stream runs down through a crevasse and makes a large hole. Blue as can be. We walked around on glacier and enjoyed every minute of it.
Continued to drive through Banff National Park until we came to a gem of a campground: Waterfowl Lake Campground, next to teal-blue river ringed by mountains. Made a spaghetti dinner.
Went for short hike and bed early. Can hear the river roar by as we’re in bed!
